Network Marketing Lead Generation Tips

If you do not have a network marketing lead generation strategy set up, I can almost predict the demise of your network marketing business.

The most effective way to generate mlm leads is through the Internet. Call me lazy but any other network marketing lead generation is just not worth it.

I have tried buying leads, I have tried advertising, I have even tried cold calling. It was extremely painful and disappointing. Buying leads and advertising cost money, and if you want your campaign to work, you need to invest lots of money.

If you do not have leads, you are slowly but surely dying of a slow death in this field. Before we go deeper into network marketing lead generation, I think it's important for you to understand the different types of leads you should work on concurrently.

There are basically 2 types of leads. One type is targetted at increasing your consumer base, they are your retail leads. The second is the business builder leads.

The number 1 mistake I made and I am seeing many people make is they start off expanding their network marketing business by focusing on recruiting of business builders for their network instead of building up a strong retail customers base.

Yes it's true you are not going to get rich from your retail customers, but they are vital because they will be providing your business with the cashflow that is required to keep you motivated and going.

And overtime, as your retail base grows, it would be quite easy to identify whom amongst that retail customer base might be a potential business builder.

Both types of lead generation should go on concurrently but too many people and uplines are teaching their recruits to look for builders first. The incentive is even greater for them especially for those who are involve with any front-end loading scheme where a new person is required to buy a high amount of products to get enrolled. The normal reasons given are, how many businesses do you know of, that allows you to get started with a mere 4 figure amount etc.

So before you join a team or a network marketing company, ask them what kind of network marketing lead generation system do they have in place?

Network Marketing starts with recruiting/lead generation. Generating leads is "made for the Net." But that's not the way matters have unfolded. Why? Because everyone in the industry has tried to force offline methods, online. There's no need to push (i.e., chase cold calls/prospects) when you can motivate them to pull (i.e., they call you).
